Cindy Cortez is a California native, born in Santa Barbara, Ca. She grew up in Pasadena, Ca. After graduating from Pasadena City College, she went to work for Sinclair Paint and Wallcovering, as a wallcovering and design consultant. She went on to become showroom manager and worked in several showrooms, including the Sinclair Wallcovering Showroom at the Pacific Design Center. She gained valuable experience in both the retail and wholesale aspects of the interior design field.

 

In the 90’s, Cindy continued her CEU education at FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise). After successfully completing her CID (Certified Interior Designer) certification, she became a professional member of ASID (American Society of Interior Design). She is an active member of the ASID Inland Empire Chapter and stays current with her continuing education.

 

In 1991, Cindy merged with Annette Monteleone and formed Saqqara Design Studio. She enjoyed a successful partnership and participated in three Pasadena Showcase Houses of Design – 1992, 1993 and 1998. In 2000, she became sole proprietor/designer of Saqqara Design Studio. Cindy spent 2015 with a small design firm in Blue Jay, Ca., but left to devote her talent and expertise to her own business. She thrives as an entrepreneur in the interior design field, specializing in residential and commercial design, with an emphasis on transitional design. Her expertise encompasses the full realm of interior design along with color coordination for both interiors and exteriors.

 

Cindy lives in Lake Arrowhead with her husband, son and rescued German Shepherds. She enjoys travel and spending time with friends throughout the country. In her spare time, she is a volunteer for Bob Hope USO. Her work takes her throughout the Northwest and East Coast. She is passionate about the interior design field and meets every job with enthusiasm and professionalism. She makes a promise to all of her clients to make the process of home improvement as enjoyable as possible.
